To produce gypsum board, calcined gypsum is mixed with additives to form a slurry that is fed between continuous layers of paper on a Gypsum Board Equipment. Since the board moves down a conveyer line, the calcium sulfate recrystallizes or rehydrates, reverting to the first rock state. The paper becomes chemically and mechanically bonded to the core. The board is then cut to length and conveyed through dryers to eliminate any free moisture.
Gypsum board, drywall or plasterboard is a building product used in modern construction for efficient, cost effective fire protection that can be easily installed and decorated. The gypsum board production process generally consists of calcining and or grinding gypsum powder, forming a gypsum panel product and drying off any excess water.
Currently, the market requirements and trends of building wall panels are: high quality (including high fire resistance, moisture resistance, impact resistance), and lower and lower prices. Fiberglass board has a fire, moisture and impact resistance, combined with simple design of high quality wall has a lower price. Therefore, fiberglass board has more potential than other gypsum board.
